Zumba Dance and Fitness
Zumba Dance and Fitness combines high energy and motivating music (popular and international) with easy-to-follow moves and combinations. The class will focus on both cardiovascular and strength training movement in intervals to maximize caloric output, fat-burning, muscle strengthening and toning. This workout is FUN and is great for both your body and your mind.

Rising STARZ Gymnastics
Basic level skills are reinforced, as more advanced skills are introduced in all apparatus: floor, vault, beam, and bars with an emphasis on building self-confidence, self-esteem, and body awareness. Class taught for all levels: beginner through intermediate with focus on completing USA Gymnastics Level 1 skills.Lake Orion Enrichment Services in cooperation with STARZ Performing Arts offers recreational children’s gymnastics lessons. There are three sessions: fall, winter, and spring. Join us for one, two, or all three sessions; yearlong students in the program receive a trophy in June. Participants should wear leotards or fitness clothing (no jeans) and bring a water bottle. CERC provides a quiet waiting area in the main lobby where parents will remain during the class. A formal “Olympics” will be presented to the parents and guests on the last week to demonstrate skills and progress.

Art Academy - Cozy Cocoa Canvas
Art
Artists will draw a cup of hot cocoa and mittens on the canvas, then paint with their choice of colors. Then they will add the snowy texture to the background and a layer of fluffy foam to the cocoa. As a finishing touch, white splatter paint will add delicate flurries swirling about. A material fee of $10 is payable to instructor at the first class. Class taught by elementary art teacher Mrs. Meehan.

Artists will draw and watercolor paint a fox enjoying a fireside rest. They will learn to draw and paint a fox or two enjoying the warmth and glow of a roaring fire on a chilly winter day. Calling all future babysitters! Take this class to learn what it takes to be the best babysitter in town. Topics covered include how to care for various ages of children, what to do in case of an emergency, and how to manage your babysitting business. First aid basics will be covered.

Ballet/Tap/Jazz
Dance
This class develops a dance work ethic in a positive atmosphere that builds self-esteem. The students will learn proper ballet technique, vocabulary, jumps, and leaps while incorporating them into many different styles of dance. Jazz incorporates stretching, across the floor combinations, and stylized routines. Tap concentrates on rhythm, improvisation, and tap choreography. Dance apparel and shoes suggested but not mandatory. Please pack a water bottle. Class will participate in a recital at the end of the session. Learn cheerleading basics including sideline cheers, floor cheers, jumps, tumbling and stunts, a pom/dance routine, and mounting/pyramids. Please pack a water bottle and wear athletic clothing. Participants will perform in recital. For extra gymnastics skills, participants are encouraged to join tumbling clinics or open gym on Tuesdays.

Dragon Elite Boys Basketball League

The Lake Orion Varsity Basketball Staff and players are excited to bring you the Dragons Elite Youth Basketball League. Teams will be coached & taught by parent volunteers. Designed to fit into your busy schedule with practices and games being on the same day. This league will meet for 7 Sundays with the first Sunday being practice only. The following six Sundays will include practice and games. Practices will be 45 minutes.

Love soccer and working hard to have a winning season with your team? Trying to figure out if playing soccer at the travel level is for you? The same people who brought you Mini Dragons Soccer now offer 7-11 year olds 60 challenging but fun soccer training activities with functional muscle development drills, infused with 15+ minute competitive games, reviewing all the steps to play a real soccer game. Shinguards are required for all ages. Uniform package (jersey with number, shorts and socks) required and purchased separately for $20.

Drawing with Young Rembrandts: Session 1
Art
Young Rembrandt students will have fun learning to draw colorful compositions using creative patterns and designs. The session will kick-off with a drawing of a detailed gumball machine. We will then progress to a realistic dragonfly drawing. A colorful Egyptian headdress will be the focus of our art history lesson. This session features cartoon classes, too.

Drawing with Young Rembrandts: Session 2

Young Rembrandt classes offers all-new, exciting projects this fall. A globe-trotting koala, a video game inspired still life, and a playful nutcracker are all in the line-up. We will even create a silly squid dressed as a holiday tree! The class features cartoon drawings, too! Every lesson strengthens your child’s focus, fine motor skills and creativity.

Exploring Music with Ms. Rennels

This class is for elementary students who love to experiment with sound and make music! Class includes: bucket drumming, make your own rubber-band ukulele, instrument and rhythm games, trying out instruments with strings (such as electric/acoustic guitar, violin, and folk harp), trying out wind instruments (trumpet, trombone, recorder, flute), make a drinking-straw shawm and create your very own "trash band drum kit." Each student will receive a new pair of drumsticks, all instrument building materials will be provided. Registration fee includes material fee of $10.

Girl Scout Dance Badge Clinic

Let’s move and groove and earn a badge! In this playful and supportive environment, girls will build confidence, teamwork, and accomplish the five requirements to earn their brownie dance try-it badge. Not a brownie or a girl scout? Come join us anyway and earn a fun patch while exploring your creative movement and staying active.

Girls Basketball League

The program will start with an instructional clinic on December 13. Practices will be held once a week, either on Mondays or Wednesdays, beginning the week of January 5. Games will be played on January 10, 17, 24, 31, February 7, and 21. Volunteer coaches are needed for the girls league.

Full access to Starz gymnastics room including mats, bars, beams, vault, and loads of props/toys. Practice your skills or just burn off some energy. Staff member is present to ensure safety; however, no formal lesson will occur. Please register early! Preregistration is required one week prior or session may be cancelled.
