Level 3 Swim

This class is for a child who has completed the American Red Cross level 2 class and can do a combined arm and leg action on the front and back independently for 5 body lengths. To exit this level, the child must be able to jump into deep water, recover, tread or float for 1 minute and do a 15 yard front crawl and elementary backstroke.

Level 4
Youth
This class is for the child who can do front crawl for 12 yards; jump into deep water and do elementary backstroke for 15 yards. To exit this level, the child must be able to do front crawl for 25 yards with rotary breathing; elementary backstroke for 25 yards; backstroke and breaststroke for 15 yards and 3-5 body lengths underwater.

Youth
Your child must have completed a level 4 in American Red Cross learn to swim program to be in this swim class. Here are the skills required to enroll: Front crawl for 25 yards, elementary or backstroke for 25 yards, breaststroke for 15 yards, be able to tread and jump into deep water. Instructors will evaluate skills on the first day. These skills will be a focused during each session: advancing Front crawl skills with proper breathing, building up basic endurance with a combination of drills, continue to improve technique on Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly, introducing diving and flip turns.

This is a combined classes for ages 6 months to 3.5 years old with a parent in the water. This class will stress safety and teaches parents how to help their child become comfortable in the water. Swimming diapers are required under swim suit if the child is not potty trained. Level of support and assistance from parent will vary depending upon the skill level and confidence of the child. Skills to be introduced: bubble blowing, front an back float, reaching, kicking, jumping in the water, beginning arm movements on the front and back all supported and safety in and around the pool.

For the child who can do front and back crawl for 15 yards; to exit this level, the child must be able to do a shallow dive in deep water; front crawl and elementary backstroke for 50 yards; breaststroke and back crawl for 25 yards using appropriate turning styles.
