This class is for children between the ages of 3-5 years old. They must be able to front float or back float with without assistance, face fully submerged and are starting to do combined arm and leg action for 2 body lengths. They will be working on independent swimming.

Join this exciting program that has been sponsored by Lake Orion Enrichment Services for over 36 years under the direction of Grand Master Leo Mayer 8th Dan Black Belt. The program is designed to teach beginners, from first grade up, the concepts of self-discipline, self-defense and self-confidence to make the right choices. In this beginner class, parents are welcome to JOIN and train with their children and increase their flexibility while mastering proper balance and coordination skills in the same class. Stop by and talk to certified black belt instructors at the demonstration on the first night. Tournaments available. Registration fee of $150 payable at first night demonstration class.

Art Academy - Fireside Fox
Art
Artists will draw and watercolor paint a fox enjoying a fireside rest. They will learn to draw and paint a fox or two enjoying the warmth and glow of a roaring fire on a chilly winter day. A material fee of $10 is payable to instructor at the first class. Class taught by elementary art teacher Mrs. Meehan.

Gear up for a brand-new mission to protect the planet! Each week, kids meet a new animal and discover how conservation heroes are working to keep them safe. One class might bring icy polar bears to life, another will celebrate frogs in vivid color, design patterned snakes, or explore swirling jellyfish with ink diffusion. Every project is different, every story inspiring. Eco Heroes is a different adventure from Animal Rescuers – new animals and new projects! Registration fee includes $35 material fee.

Beginner to advanced - all Pokémon card collectors are welcome! Have fun learning about Pokémon cards, showing your cards, playing games, trading*, and more. Does your young chef like to cook? This class will focus on winter1-pot meals with a side dish. Kids will learn cooking fundamentals, knife basics, kitchen safety, and nutrition. The last class will end with a cupcake wars competition! This class is a nut-free class. Registration includes material fee of $95.

Self Defense for Girls and Women
Special Interest
This class focuses on developing situational awareness as well as learning self-defense techniques applicable to various attacks. From a simple wrist grab to an attempted choke, students will learn defensive as well as offensive skills. Additional topics will cover identification/use of potential weapons, vulnerable target areas on attackers as well as kicking, punching, and throwing drills. Class is taught by American Martial Arts Academy Fourth Dan (Masters) and Third Dan Black Belts.

Spanish Level II with Espanol con animo!

This class is for students who already have basic knowledge of Spanish (alphabet, colors, numbers, etc.) or who have taken the Beginner Level I class. In this class, we will dive deeper into Spanish and build upon the basics by learning how to ask questions in Spanish, discovering how to conjugate verbs, and becoming familiar with useful phrases as we progress. We will continue to have fun learning about Spanish and Latin American culture, playing games, listening to music, and much more!

Theatre Production Workshop: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

Join us as we plan, rehearse, and perform The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, by Frances Mapp (with some added characters and scenes by Mrs. Firis!) Taught by Stadium Drive’s former Theatre teacher, Megan Firis, this workshop is geared toward anyone who likes to collaborate, create, and perform. No prior acting or theatre experience is required. Just come ready to try some new things and have fun! Some reading required. We will perform our play on the last day of the class.

Vintage Brownie Badge Workshop: Let's Pretend

Calling all Brownies! Earn a vintage Brownie badge with our theatre teacher, Megan Firis. Brownies will complete all badge requirements and receive their badge plus a fun patch on the last day of class. Learn how to be an actor and put on a play in a fun and stress-free way. An informal performance will be held on the last day. A material fee of $5 is payable to the instructor at check-in. Drop offs encouraged - Girl Scout background checked adult ratios and safety guidelines will be followed. No Tagalongs please.
